Lambda Alliance is the umbrella advocacy group for queer students at the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to advancing the causes of legal and social LGBT equality on campus, the Lambda Alliance serves as a forum for its constituent groups to interact and foster a cohesive community.

Wes is a junior in the College studying Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies. He is from Oregon, and therefore doesn’t believe in rain jackets or boots as a concept. At Penn, Wes is also involved with Kite & Key, Phi Alpha Delta, and ACTION. He is also a work study student, doing homeownership law work at a legal aid firm in Philly. His interests include watching Portland Timber’s games, going to art museums, and baking.

Bryce Nguyen C'21

Bryce is a sophomore majoring in Economics and Statistics. He's a Florida native, which means he's a little scared of the northeastern winter. Outside of Lambda, Bryce is involved with MUSE and Penn Student Government (NEC). His interests include swimming, baking, Britney Spears, and Ariana Grande.

Ana is a sophomore in the College studying BBB. She lives in New York and is originally from Colombia. She loves experiencing new things and meeting new people. Full of excitement and motivation, Ana is ready for the day whether this involves everyday questions or difficult problems. At Penn she is also involved in SPEC, Phi Delta Epsilon, and laboratory research. In her free time she rewatches Game of Thrones, bakes, or explores the city.

Silvia Ayala Torres C'21

Vice Chair of Outreach Programs


Silvia Ayala Torres is a second-year majoring in Philosophy (Political and Moral) and double minoring in Legal History and Latinx Studies. She is originally from Arecibo, Puerto Rico but calls Grand Rapids, Michigan her home in the States. She is involved with QuestBridge Scholars at Penn, currently serving as their Vice-Liaison, as well as the Penn Undergraduate Law Journal, serving as Associate Editor, and as a Representative to the LALS Undegraduate Advisory Board, among others. In her freetime, Silvia enjoys discussing curly hair, versing herself on random topics she is ephemerally fascinated by, and interacting with her beloved Stouffer College House community. Her favorite proverb is attributed to Persian Sufi Poets Sanai and Attar of Nishapur: "This too, shall pass" The proverb changed her perspective on the nature of life and she hopes it will have the same impact on you.

Fisher is currently serving his second term as the Vice Chair of Finance for the Lambda Alliance. As a student in the college, Fisher is currently pursuing a double major in communications and gender, sexuality, and women's studies. Yes – Fisher is a SAS student who is passionate about finance; endorse his skills on Linkedin. On a more serious note, Fisher is available for any student who has questions about funding on campus.

Blake Rubenstein is a freshman interested in double majoring in Sociology and PPE. He is from Michigan, but nevertheless is afraid of snow. Outside of Lambda Alliance, Blake is involved with J-Bagel, Mock Trial, and Kite and Key Society. His interests include meeting new people, promoting social justice, and watching Ellen DeGeneres Youtube videos.
